Worship and Music
The Worship Committee, in collaboration with the pastor and organist/choir director, is responsible for planning and implementing worship services. This includes decoration and upkeep of the sanctuary; communion and baptism setup/cleanup;acolyte and usher coordination; and is the primary group to work with the organist/choir director and choir for musical presentations.
Education
The Christian Education Committee is responsible for providing a regular Sunday educational program for all ages, and is responsible to provide such special programs and events as are appropriate to encourage the growth of faith and discipleship of church members.
Youth Christian Education - Sunday mornings during 10:30 a.m. worship service. Children remain in worship for the Children's Sermon and are excused for Christian Education immeditely following.
Adult Christian Education - Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. in the lounge.
OUTREACH
Evangelism Committee
The Evangelism Committee informs the community of the Good News of the Gospel as lived out by this particular congregation. They seek out those who might be interested in attending worship; follow up those who visit; encourage potential membership and guide them through the New Member's Class; follow up new members for up to one (1) year following their membership. In addition, they develop programs to train others within the congregation to participate in ongoing evangelism.
Mission
The Mission Committee develops opportunities for members to live out their discipleship in service to the larger community. It also provides education to the congregation on the missional activities and opportunities of the denominations. The congregation's participation in the CROP Walk, Habitat for Humanity, Worship at The Crossings Adult Home, Thanksgiving and Christmas gift baskets, and One Great Hour of Sharing are examples of participation in missional opportunities.
CONGREGATIONAL CARE
Pastor Parish Relations Committee
The PPR Committee serves as: (1) a support for the communication link between the pastor and the congregation, assuring that good communication takes place and when necessary, mediating during times of difficulty; (2) a support to the pastor and the pastor's family; (3) a support to the pastor in the coordination and implementation of an ongoing congregational care network; (4) the personnel committee for the church.
Membership
The Membership Committee keeps careful records of church membership and participation, including worship attendance and follow up on members whose worship attendance has become infrequent. The committee keeps the pastor and Parish Council informed as to membership needs, and it makes recommendations to the Parish Council regarding changes to the membership rolls.
SUPPORT MINISTRIES
Building and Grounds
The Building and Grounds Committee is responsible for the care and upkeep of the church property and grounds. The committee provides light repairs as needed, develops a list of available professionals to handle any emergencies as may arise, and plans regular maintenance and upkeep of the church property. In addition, supervises the cleaning of the building and coordinates special cleaning and painting work parties.
Finances
The Finance Committee works in conjunction with the Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer to oversee the financial operations of the church, including the collecting and recording of receipts and pledges, the timely payment of bills, and the regular reporting of financial matters to the Parish Council. In addition, the committee ensures adequate insurance coverage for the building, staff, and church sponsored programs.
The Stewardship sub-committee of the Finance Committee develops such programs and activities to inform the congregation of their opportunities to share their time, talents, and treasures. In addition, coordinates an annual stewardship campaign in the Fall and works with the Assistant Treasurer to maintain current records of pledging members.
Memorials Committee
The Memorials Committee receives, holds and manages all memorial gifts and bequests. The committee acknowledges memorial gifts to appropriate individuals, maintains the Memorial Plaques and Book, and recommends to the Parish Council disbursement of funds .
Publications and Communications Committee
The Publications and Communications Committee provides for regular and effective communications to the congregation on the work of the Parish Council and various programs of the church. It also provides publicity for the programs of the church to the larger community.
Special Ministry Teams
Vital to the life of the church are other groups such as Helping Hands, Philathea, Choir and Christian Service Group.
